LaLaboratorios Defsa has covered an area of 1,400 m² of its warehouses in Guadalajara with the state-of-the-art solar panels to generate part of its own self-consumption.
For this project, Defsa has allocated an investment of $200,000 USD, and with an installed capacity of 180 KW, expects to generate an average of 300 MWh per year, which represents more than 40% of the energy consumption of its pharmaceutical plant. By opting for clean solar energy, the company contributes to stopping climate change. The return on the investment is estimated in five years’ time.
Thanks to this initiative, Defsa improves its environmental footprint and hopes to be more competitive in its main activity: contract manufacturing of sterile products for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
